Experience an evening of authentic roots reggae as Adwela & The Uprising bring their nationally touring live show to Peake Tavern in Chesapeake. Led by Virginia-born singer, songwriter, and Rastafarian artist Adwela Dawes, the award-winning band has spent more than a decade sharing conscious reggae rooted in messages of unity, truth, and positive change.
Known for powerful live performances, the seven-piece group blends original music with classic roots reggae influences, creating an uplifting atmosphere that keeps audiences dancing while delivering meaningful lyrics. Since being named Best New Artist by the Virginia Reggae Awards in 2015, Adwela & The Uprising have toured nationally, performed at major festivals, and shared stages with reggae legends including Third World and The Wailers.
