Father Sun close out Friday night at Indigo Mountain Fest on September 25, 2026, playing 10:30 PM to midnight at Indigo Mountain Farm in Floyd County. It is the late slot on the first night of the two-day festival, a psychedelic reggae set under the Blue Ridge stars with your tent a short walk away.
Father Sun are a multigenerational force in Virginia reggae, built around the father and son rhythm section of Janiah Allen on bass and Nyo Allen on drums, with Aram Skenderian on lead guitar. Their sound leans psychedelic: thunderous bass lines, cosmic effects and roots tradition pushed somewhere new. They have two records out, the 2024 debut Island of Bone and the 2025 follow up Sunburn, and this summer took them from FloydFest and NokeFest to Massanutten, Covington and downtown Roanoke. Indigo Mountain Fest is a two-day celebration of music, art and community on Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26, with local bands and DJs across two stages, craft and art vendors, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Indigo Mountain Farm is a 90-plus acre event space tucked into the mountains a short drive from downtown Floyd, with a spring-fed pond, rustic campsites in the woods, shaded grass and open fields, and a custom-built stage. Camping is included with admission, so plan to stay the night.
