United Souls at the Downtown Hampton Block Party

United Souls headline the Downtown Hampton Block Party on Saturday, August 15, 2026, playing from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at the grassy lot on Kings Way at Queens Way. The Block Party series takes over Downtown Hampton nearly every Saturday all summer: bring a chair, grab food and drinks from the nearby restaurants, and settle in for a night of live music under the open sky.
United Souls are Hampton’s own, twice named Virginia Reggae’s Reggae Band of the Year in 2010 and 2011. The band blends roots reggae with dub, funk, soul, old school and R&B, anchored by a rotation of strong soulful lead vocals, and their live energy has made them one of the Peninsula’s most dependable good time bands. It is a big weekend for them too: this show lands between their Friday night set at Pecola’s and the rest of the region’s reggae calendar.
The Block Party is organized by the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership, with food and drinks available from 6 to 9:30 PM and an on-site DJ keeping things moving between sets. Blankets, lawn chairs and well behaved pets are welcome, which makes this one of the most family friendly ways to catch live reggae in Hampton Roads.
