United Souls bring their roots and lovers rock sound to The Rhythm Room in Hampton, Virginia on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 8:00 PM. Cover is $10 at the door and entry is 30 and over, making for a grown folks night of live reggae in Peninsula Town Center.
United Souls are a Hampton band, so this one is very much a hometown show. Led by Ed Dread on bass alongside Jr Harlon on strings, I. Gabe and Shiloh trading lead vocals and keys, and JP on percussion, the group has built its reputation on a live set that moves between roots, lovers rock and Caribbean reggae while pulling in funk, soul and hip hop along the way. They were named Reggae Band of the Year by Virginia Reggae in 2010 and 2011, they have played rooms as big as the Hampton Coliseum, and their album Strobelights is out worldwide on the usual streaming platforms. Two decades in, they remain one of the most dependable live draws in Hampton Roads.
The Rhythm Room is an upscale restaurant and lounge in Peninsula Town Center, built around an intimate room where the kitchen and the live music get equal billing. Doors are open for dinner service from 5:00 PM on Saturdays, so come early, eat, and hold a spot before the band starts.
