Cultivated Mind Live at Chef Life Brewery
About This Event
Cultivated Mind brings East Coast reggae home to Newport News tonight, Thursday, October 15, 2026, with a free show at Chef Life Brewery & Distillery from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Cultivated Mind is a Newport News original. The project started around 2013 as an acoustic roots duo of Drew Boyd and Anthony Brand, and has grown into a full band blending roots reggae and dub with jazz, blues, hip hop and salsa. Their sets mix originals with medleys of reggae classics, dub versions of soul and blues tunes, and the odd flamenco or jazz detour. They’re also the official reggae band of the Hippie-Fari Reggae Radio & Podcast, and have been all over Hampton Roads this fall.
Chef Life Brewery & Distillery, part of Chef’s Market Newport News, pours its own beer and spirits, which makes a Thursday evening set with no cover an easy call after work.
