Stable Roots Live at Salt Pond Pub at Mountain Lake Lodge

Venue
Salt Pond Pub at Mountain Lake Lodge
Pembroke, VA

Stable Roots sends off summer with reggae vibes at Salt Pond Pub, the open air pub at Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The band plays until 8:00 PM, no ticket needed, so just come up the mountain and find a seat.

Stable Roots is a Shenandoah Valley reggae band with roots going back to 2010, based out of the Stuarts Draft and Waynesboro area. Bandleader and keyboardist Chris “Peanut” Whitley anchors a lineup that includes Greg Ward on guitar, Joshua Poole on bass, Gordon “Saxman” Jones on tenor saxophone, Drummah Jay on drums, and vocalists Ralph Dujur, known as Ralphtafari, and Sista Nickey McMullen out front. Between them the members have toured internationally backing roots heavyweights including Burning Spear, Culture and The Itals, and their sets move between original material and the classics, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Dennis Brown among them. This one is billed as Stable Roots featuring Sista Nickey and Ralphtafari.

The show lands in the middle of LaLaPoolza, Mountain Lake Lodge’s Labor Day weekend farewell to summer running September 4 through 7, with Jamaican inspired food trucks, tropical cocktails, poolside games and outdoor movie nights filling out the weekend. Salt Pond Pub itself sits high on Salt Pond Mountain in Giles County, about half an hour up from Blacksburg, at a lodge best known to many visitors as the filming location for Dirty Dancing. Ales, trails and a mountain breeze, and for one evening a reggae band. Sway, sip and smile, island style.
