Richmond’s biggest island day of the summer is back. Soulshot, ABLA, and AJR present the Caribbean Jerk Fest at Kanawha Plaza in downtown Richmond on Saturday, August 15, 2026, running from 12:00 noon to 8:00 PM.
The live lineup leans deep into soca, calypso, and reggae: Eclipse International Band, the DC-area Caribbean outfit known for high-energy soca and reggae sets, and the Kurlou Reggae Allstars, Lenny Kurlou’s veteran DMV reggae band, headline the stage, with Randy “Singer” Brown, Rhythim, and Sir Mikey also featured on the Eventbrite bill. Soulshot Sound and DJ Jah B keep the riddims running between sets.
Come hungry: jerk chicken, doubles, roti, a rum tasting, and a wine bar are all part of the day. Kanawha Plaza sits at 701 E. Canal St. in the heart of downtown Richmond. Bring a fold-up chair (no coolers, per the organizers) and make a full day of it.
