Father Sun at The West Station Block Party in Roanoke

Venue
West Station
Roanoke, VA

Father Sun bring the reggae to The West Station Block Party on Salem Avenue in downtown Roanoke on Saturday, August 22, 2026. NokeFest presents the street party from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, $10 at the gate, with eight acts across the day, vendors and food trucks between Big Lick Brewing Company and Golden Cactus Brewery.

Father Sun are familiar ground for readers here, a Virginia reggae staple who have turned up at NokeFest, Camp Reckoning, Downtown After 5 in Blacksburg and Wings Etc. in Salem this summer alone, often alongside The Ambassador. They are the reggae on this bill, and worth timing your afternoon around.

The rest of the lineup runs wide rather than deep into reggae. Jon Stickley Trio headline with their instrumental progressive bluegrass, joined by the electronic violin duo Future Joy, soul singer Abby Bryant, Greensboro folk troubadour Ranford Almond, hip hop tribute band Phat Laces, Americana songwriter Erin Lunsford and Roanoke’s own Circus Child. It is a genre spread day, so come for Father Sun and stay for whatever catches you.

West Station is the Salem Avenue block that Roanoke closes off for this one, an easy walk from the Market and flanked by two breweries. Bring cash for the vendors.
