Father Sun bring their psychedelic reggae to Wings Etc. in Salem on Friday, August 14, 2026, playing from 9 PM to 11:55 PM. It is a hometown-turf Friday night hang for the Roanoke Valley trio, and a chance to catch a FloydFest 2026 act in a laid back sports bar setting.
Father Sun are built around a father and son rhythm section, with Janiah Allen on bass, his son Nyo Allen on drums and Aram Skenderian on lead guitar. FloydFest calls them “a multigenerational force in Psychedelic Reggae,” all thunderous bass lines and cosmic effects, equal parts rooted tradition and fearless experimentation. The band has two records out, their 2024 debut Island of Bone and the 2025 follow up Sunburn, and their originals sit comfortably next to well chosen reggae covers in a live set. Wings Etc. is a family friendly sports bar on Wildwood Road, the first Virginia location of the wing chain, with award winning Buffalo wings and a TV-filled American pub vibe. Salem sits just west of Roanoke, and it is good to see live reggae landing on this side of the state.
